Sequences of cyclic peptides with antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria (such as E. coli), with an MIC of ≤ 50 μg/mL, are considered as positive data.

Linear Cyclic                   N-terminal modification             C-terminal modification

There are three threshold values to determine positive samples:

  • 1. 10% and more hemolysis when peptide concentration is not greater than 100 μM.
  • 2. Minimal hemolytic concentration (MHC) is not greater than 250 μg/mL.
  • 3. Median effect concentration (EC₅₀), median harmful concentration (HC₅₀), median lethal concentration (LC₅₀), median lethal dose (LD₅₀) or median inhibitory concentration (IC₅₀) is not greater than 100 μM.
